In this talk, we present a general framework for constructing integral distinguishers for block ciphers based on subspace propagation and generalized derivatives. The framework provides lower bounds on the number of rounds for which a cipher remains vulnerable to integral attacks presented here. We discuss applications to AES-like SPNs, including AES, Midori-64, Klein-64, SKINNY-64, and AES-prime, recovering and explaining several known results. In particular, we obtain new integral distinguishers for SKINNY-64 and AES-prime and illustrate the potential of generalized derivatives for the analysis of arithmetization-oriented designs over finite fields. This is joint work with Kirpa Garg and Valentin Suder.
